Arctic temperatures in Sweden – Östersund FK uses Olympic medalist in cross country skiing as coach.
On february 15th Arsenal faces Östersund in Europa Leauge – the Swedish team and town currently hosting minus 20 degrees celcius.
Östersund FK has a strong history of teambuilding activities and before the game against Arsenal, the club’s chairman, Daniel Kindberg, wants to carry on the regional skiing traditions in the training program. During the last weeks leading up to the game, the club complements soccer shoes with cross-country equipment.
– We are a few players whom has never used skis before and we think this is great. We also want to show Arsenal how we do play football in Östersund. A cold welcome, say Aly Keita, Östersund FK’s goalkeeper.
